Interior Drain Tile & Sump Pump Installation in Batavia, NY

The backbone of a permanently dry basement — an interior basement drainage system installed the right way, with no shortcuts.

What Interior Drain Tile Actually Is

An interior drain tile system (some folks call it a basement French drain) is a perforated pipe set in stone below your basement floor, right alongside the footer. Instead of letting groundwater push through your walls and floor, the system collects it at the lowest point and carries it to a sump pump, which sends it out and away from the house.

It’s the single most effective fix for a chronically wet basement — but only if it’s installed correctly. The details below are where cheap installs go wrong.

How We Install It

Two things you will not find in our installs: landscape fabric wrapped around the pipe (it clogs with silt and chokes the system — fabric belongs outside, not under your floor), and flimsy corrugated sump basins with only two inlets. We use flat-wall basins drilled with roughly 200 holes, so water enters from every direction and the pump cycles the way it should.

Sump Pumps & Partial Systems

We install Zoeller and Liberty sump pumps — proven cast-iron workhorses rated to handle the 3/8–1/2 inch stone environment they sit in. If your pump is short-cycling, running constantly, or just old, we also handle sump pump replacement as a standalone job.

And if water only comes in along one or two walls, we’ll quote a partial run — say, 50 feet of drain tile on the problem walls — rather than pushing a whole-basement system you don’t need. That honesty is why our customers refer their neighbors.

Dealing with wall cracks too? Our crack & leak sealing ties directly into the drain tile. Start at our basement waterproofing overview to see the whole system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not always. If water shows up on only one or two walls, a partial run on those walls often solves it for a fraction of the cost. We’ll tell you straight which one you need.

Groundwater rises from below. With holes down, the pipe collects water at the lowest possible point — before it can reach your floor slab. Holes-up installs let the water table rise higher before the pipe does anything.

Under a floor, landscape fabric slowly clogs with fine silt until the system stops flowing — and there’s no way to clean it. The stone bed does the filtering. Fabric has its place in exterior French drains, not under your basement.

Zoeller and Liberty — reliable, serviceable, and rated for the stone environment of a real drain tile system. We size the pump to your water conditions.

Flush it once a year through the corner inspection ports — a garden hose does the job. The ports also let you verify water is flowing to the sump like it should.
